How to Test your Headphones
While your video conferencing applications might have built-in audio testers, these can sometimes be unreliable. themictest offers a free online tool that lets you quickly test both your webcam and microphone to ensure everything is working properly. Here’s how to use the themictest online audio test:
Step 1: Allow Headphone Access
- Visit the themictest online webcam test tool by going to online webcam test tool ON themictest (this tool also tests your microphone).
- When prompted by your browser, click “Allow” to grant themictest access to your headphone. This is usually a pop-up near the address bar at the top of your screen (on PC) or requires scrolling up (on mobile).
- If your browser blocks pop-ups, you might not see the prompt to grant access to your speakers or microphone.
Step 2: Test Your Headphone
- Click on the left or the right Headphone icon to Test Audio of your device.
- If you hear an audio from the speakers of your headphone or sound device, the test is successful.
Step 3: Observe the Audio Input
If the headphone test is successful, you should hear a clear audio tone coming through the speakers of your headphones (or whichever side you clicked on).
Step 4: Additional Testing (Optional)
- Play music or a video to test how your headphones sound with a broader range of audio.
- Adjust the volume controls on both your device and your headphones to achieve a comfortable listening level.
