Your Privacy Is Very Important To Us

All our tests are completely secure and runs on the “client side” – it means that the mic test team do not and can not record your different voices or any other type of information.

If the line is responding to any voice or sounds, then that means the mic works well

If you still have problems, scroll down or click here.

The Long Explanation

If you have visited the mic test with playback for the first time or after clear your history, your browser will ask that if you allow the mic test site access to your microphone. Select Allow.

* On a PC / Laptop this question should be very near the address bar at the top of your screen.

* On a mobile device scroll up all the way. It will appear to select Allow.

You should then be able to see a line moving up & down in the test area – beneath the words The mic test playback – whenever your mic “hears” a voice or sound.

If the line is moving up & down when you talk or say into the mic, then it is happy to announce that the result of the test is your microphone is working well and properly configured!

To listen the playback of the test you have just passed and to check the quality of the sound your microphone is recording. Click the “Stop” button and play the playback audio showing below the moving lines.

Trouble-Shooting Guide

If you are not able to see a line after allowing access to the mic, try the following steps:

Step 1. In some of the cases you will not see a line, before making a relatively loud sound or voice into the microphone. Try loud voice and see if the line appears.

Step 2. Reload the page and try again. In many of the cases that solves it.

Step 3. If nothing helps please check if your microphone is connected correctly.

If you are able to see a line but the line isn’t moving up & down, then your mic is either broken or it’s not properly setup (more chances).

Try these steps to solve the problem:

Step 1. If you are using a web browser – Safari, you will need to try a different browser or a different test.

Step 2. Check that your mic or microphone is connected to the correct (normally pink) socket in your laptop / computer. If it’s a mic or microphone used with a USB connector, check if it is a properly connected socket of the USB (Please do not use the pink microphone in this case).

Step 3. Check that microphone is not muted – in some cases the mic has a mute button on it or on the wire that is connected to it.

Step 4. Check that the volume on the mic or microphone is not turned all the way down.
